Condition

Overall in very good condition. Please note the measurements of this lot, as it is a large scale table lamp. The metal elements of the standard with some scattered surface and light rubbing to the surface. The tongue of the snake with evidence of possible bending, as it presently rests with an upward bend. The fork-shaped portion of the tongue with a prior restoration to an apparent break to one fork, approximately ¼ of an inch from end, which has been affixed very slightly askew. The glass shade is in very good condition, with a few light scratches to the exterior adjacent to the metal sculptural portions. Presently with a deteriorating electrical cord, and Sotheby’s would recommend that the wire be replaced. A good example of the form in a rare table lamp size. The colors of the shade are more vivid and display a range of deep orange to the yellow when viewed in person.
