Condition

Overall in very good condition. The ivory used to render the figure’s hands appears to have been coated and therefore presently shows in slightly more gray in color than whiter tone ivory used to render the face of the sculpture. There also appears to be a repaired crack to the cup in the figure’s hand to the top portion of the stem. The painted metal portions of the costume with shallow surface scratches, some minor areas of discoloration and light surface rubbing to the paint and minute associated losses, most of which are visible in the catalogue illustration. There are two areas of concentrated abrasions to the top of the figure’s head piece and to the back portion of the proper left leg. The metal antennas on the dancer’s costume with some oxidation at the ends and unevenness to the touch with possible minor loss. Base is in very good condition. This figure with superb scale and a beautifully detailed costume. Due to the fragile nature of this sculpture, special handling and/or packing may be required during the shipping process.
