Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 35-40 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout, which is a reasonable number of cracks considering the vast number of individual pieces of glass required to create this intricate large-scaled shade. The shade with light surface soiling throughout, most prevalent along the perimeter edges of the lead lines. This lamp is being consigned by descendants of the original owners (see detailed provenance in catalogue description) and by all accounts the shade, base, and finial have all originated together. The base is in exceptional condition displaying a rich russet brown and green patina with minimal rubbing and surface wear consistent with age and gentle use. The recessed contours of the base with light surface soiling throughout. The base retains its original switch, riser, wheel and socket cluster, as well as its original acorn finial. The lamp presents beautifully in person and the even distribution of greens and whites throughout the shade are accurately represented in the catalogue illustrations. A fine example of this iconic design displaying the ideal shade and base pairing for the model.
