Condition

Overall very good condition. The green painted surface is later, and minor losses to the paint, reveal the original yellow color underneath. The painted portions of the frame with surface scratches, small scattered minor losses and rubbing throughout the frame, as seen in the catalogue illustration. The wooden elements of the chair with some scattered surface scratches, edge nicks, and rubbing to finish consistent with age and use. The chair retains all of its original ball feet. With some evidence of the later green paint extends slightly into the edges of the wooden ball foot. With later upholstered back and seat cushions, executed in an off white color. With some very light surface dirt. Please see the online version of the catalogue available on sothebys.com or contact the department at 212-606-7170 to see a photograph of the chair with the cushions. A very good example of this iconic chair design in good condition.
