the oval basket with flaring scalloped rim applied with foliate scrolls, grapevine, wheat and masks of Ceres, the sides pierced with lattice and scrolls, engraved in the center with later 18th century arms within an elaborate flat-chased and engraved rococo cartouche of shellwork and flowers, the swinging handle applied with shellwork, grapevine and leaves, all raised on four scroll supports terminating in shells and headed by sprays of wheat and grapes

four old repairs to underside of rim, handle repaired at top on both sides, as noted re later 18th century arms, otherwise good condition
