the circular stand with gadrooned rim and reeded loop handles with foliate terminals, raised on four scrolls headed by foliage, the center fitted with four removable dishes and central cylinder, conforming high domed cover engraved on both sides with contemporary arms and supporters under a baron's coronet, leaf-capped scroll handle
Provenance
The arms are those of Rolle for John Rolle (1756-1842) of Stevenstone, M.P. for Devon 1780-96, created in 1796 Baron Rolle of Stevenstone, who married first Judith Maria, daughter of Henry Walrond of Bovey, co. Devon, and second in 1822 Louisa Barbara, 3rd daughter of Robert-George William Trefusis, 17th Lord Trefusis.
