with shaped rim applied with foliage, the sides chased, flat-chased and engraved with panels of lattice enclosed within scrolls, scrolling foliage and lobes headed by foliage, engraved under spout with initials MB under a crest, the handle fully modeled as a lion, raised on three scroll supports with shellwork terminals

Provenance

The crest and monogram are those of Henry William Ferdinand Bolckow, M.P. for Middlesborough, naturalized by act of Parliament, son of Heinrich Bolcow of Varchow, Mecklenburg.
