Catalogue Note
Isabel was a descendant of James Buchanan, 15th President of the United States, and her grandfather helped to found the Louisville Journal (Kentucky), as well as the city of Naples, Florida. George and Isabel were friends of John D. Rockefeller Jr. at 740 Park, with whom George sat on the board. George was a founding member of the investment bank, Dean Witter. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Millicent Rogers and John and Abby Rockefeller were frequent guests at the Leib's apartment at 740 Park.
