Catalogue Note
The double serpentine form of this library has close affinities with an engraving published by Thomas Chippendale in The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director, plate LVI, first published in 1753, although the design was not included in the third edition. The richly carved moldings are complemented by the unusually ornate rococo carrying handles.
