each square upholstered backrest flanked by a pair of shaped upholstered armrests raised on turned and fluted stiff-leaf carved baluster-form supports above a square over-upholstered seat, the plane frieze raised on circular turned fluted tapering legs. One mounted with a brass plaque engraved PRESENTED BY THE / EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE PAPER MAKERS OF GREAT BRITIAN AND IRELAND / TO GRENVILLE BECKETT, ESQ. / AS A TOKEN OF THEIR APPRECIATION OF HIS SERVICES AS PRESIDENT/ FOR THREE YEARS ENDING MARCH 18TH 1918.

Overall fair condition; sturdy; the first with old plug holes to base of right armrest support at join with seat rail and with small chips; left armrest support with sun-fading; back legs tipped at base of fluting; front feet tipped; the other with small chip to top of left armrest support; back left leg tipped at base of fluting and with repaired break to fluting; front feet tipped; overall with the usual old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises.
