each cartouche-form molded backrest with three pierced splats with Gothic-form tracery above a serpentine-fronted over-upholstered seat raised on molded cabriole legs. Together with two later copies. 12 pieces.
Condition
Overall good restored condition; French polished; feet tipped.
Chair I with repaired chip to front right toe.
Chair III with old repaired break to back right leg.
Chair IV with old repaired break to left stile at join with cresting rail, now with a plug; old repaired break to bases of stiles at join with backrest.
Chair V with infilled glue and sawdust repair to tops legs at joins with seat rails and brackets to stabilize; back right leg with old repaired break at join with seat rail.
Chair VI with repairs to scrolled brackets and with slight separation at joins with legs.
Chair VII with replaced front rail and replaced right side rail and with sawdust and glue reinforcements to tops of legs at joins with rails.
Chair VIII with old repaired break to front right leg.
Overall with some old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises, consistent with age and use.
