• gilt brass cylinder escapement, hammer-form oscillating weight positioned on the edge of the back plate • chromium plated cuvette • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, Arabic outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, up and down indication for power reserve • polished chromium plated case • dial signed

Condition

The movement will run at the time of cataloguing however it will require a service. The enamel dial with a small chip at 12 o'clock. The case with scuffs throughout, small area of black to the case back. Case numbered 5 857. Movement stamped FWR.

Catalogue Note

Abraham Louis Breguet perfected the perpetuelle mechanism (the name he gave to his self-winding watches) in 1770. The principle is the same as that of a pedometer, and was designed to wind as the wearer walked using an oscillating weight which moved up and down.
