Description
- metal, diamond and sapphire
Centring on a cushion-shaped sapphire within a frame of rose diamonds and a further border of circular-cut stones in foliate mounts, pendant loop, later detachable brooch fitting, fitted case.
Condition
Original pendant bail has been detached. Jewel has been converted to have a detachable brooch fitting which might also be able to worn as a clasp to a choker or necklace. Central sapphire dark blue, typical inclusions visible under magnification, some small scratches and nicks to facets and facet edges, measuring approximately 11.8 x 9.9 x 3.9, calculated to weigh approximately 4.28 carats. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 4.50 - 5.00 carats, estimated colour I-K, estimated clarity VS, some SI. Rotating safety catch to pin. Slight scratches to mount consistent with wear. In good condition. Accompanied by fitted case signed Henry Tessier, Court Jeweller, 108 Mount Street, Grosvenor Square.
