Of stylised foliate open work design, decorated with green enamel graduating in colour, accented with mother-of-pearl, to a hinged comb fitting, inner circumference approximately 135mm, signed A & J.S, fitted case, A & J. Smith, Jewellers, Aberdeen.

Condition

Frame indistinctly marked possibly 15 carat gold. Comb probably gilt metal. Small losses to enamel, lower right section with cracks and crazing to one edge. Fitted case, inscribed to silk interior of lid A & J. Smith, Jewellers, Aberdeen. Alex and John Smith registered their mark and were in production 1880 - 1932.
