Catalogue Note
Originally from Italy, the son of the famous bass-baritone Ruggero Raimondi, Riccardo Raimondi trained as a gemmologist in New York. When he returned to his homeland he met his business partner William Boni Bozzi, a graduate of FIT New York with buyer experience at Saks Fifth Avenue.
After a famous actress asked Raimondi to design a ring for her to wear when collecting her lifetime achievement award, he opened a small studio in Bologna, Italy, and started drawing. His haute couture jewellery is each custom and hand made for the buyer. By using old cut diamonds, spinels, sapphires, tourmalines and garnets Riccardo Raimondi interprets a world in which the unexpected elegance of the past is reflected in modern day simplicity.
