Condition
Two small 19th century tapestry fragment cushions, (placed in front of photograph: approx. 23cm. by 19cm, and 19cm. by 18cm.) with minor some splits and areas of distress, in need of consolidation. Both backed with modern striped silk, applied with pom-pom braid;
Two slightly larger rectangular,19th century tapestry fragment cushions, of vertical format, each with vase with flowers, (placed vertically to left and right of the small cushions in photograph): each approx. 34cm. by 21cm. Small areas of loss to area of flower in each cushion. Both backed with modern cream silk, applied with pom-pom braid;
Two narrow matching rectangular,19th century tapestry fragment cushions, of vertical format, each with central spray of flowers and some strapwork at edges, (placed horizontally across the top of the three vertical cushions in the photograph): each approx. 34cm. by 21cm. Small areas of loss to area of flower in each cushion. Minor stains to one. Velvet backing, applied with musk pink fringe;
Two larger matching rectangular, 19th century tapestry fragment cushions, of vertical format, each with spray of flowers and scrollwork at one end, (placed horizontally across top of image group, and vertically in the centre of three vertical cushions in second row from front). Each 34cm. by 23cm. Overall good condition. Velvet backing, applied with musk pink fringe;
Large square cushion, early 19th century, Aubusson, with central cartouche enclosing flowers, on a cramoisi background (placed to left of group in image), approx. 53cm. by 53cm., in good overall condition. With silk backing, and applied with golden fringe;
Large square cushion, applied central tapestry fragment, late 18th century, possibly Beauvais, with figures in a landscape, applied to square dark green velvet cushion (placed to far right of image), approx. 48cm. by 48cm. In good overall condition.Tapestry panel trimmed with braid. Cushion with dark green velvet backing, applied with golden braid and green fringe.
