Colours of tapestry in reality and softer and the overall hue is not yellow as appears in the catalogue image. It is crisper and more attractive in colour in reality. This tapestry fragment is lacking all borders, and has a new yellow and blue banded outer selvedge. It has been lined with hessian, and it is recommended that Velcro should be applied to the top for hanging purposes in the future. It has some minor repairs, professionally executed, and some time ago. For example the edging to the hands and arms, visible as a brown line, is later. Some of original areas using brown have losses, and warps showing, which is commensurate with the colour of dye and age. There are some minor splits. There is some fading and discolouration, which is commensurate with age, however the colour is balanced across the composition. Sky is different colour, but this does not detract from overall appearance. There is some rewoven repair to the sky area, visible as the light apricot colour to the top right corner, and section to the right of the trunk of the tree. There are very fine details to this composition, especially to the faces. This tapestry is a versatile size, and in good overall condition.
