Condition
Colours tonally in reality are not as red overall. The brown ground is an almond/hazlenut colour depending on which way across the piece you look. The inner and outer narrow borders appear more golden in reality. Blue in central medallion and to leaves is good colour match. Colours are generally more defined and crisper in appearance.
Generally fair 3mm pile overall, with pile lower in brown field (due to oxidation which is commensurate with brown dye of this age). Some minor areas of corrosion, warps showing in the black ground of the border, and to areas of the main brown ground, commensurate with these colours of dye. Some minor spot repairs. There is minor spot staining to central area - for example to the blue medallion surround, on right side. Linen flatweave turned under at both ends. Flexible handle, slightly wavy sides. Overall in good and sound condition and ready to use.
