Overall good condition. Some minor chips and losses to gilding and refreshing of decoration. Needlework a little worn.

Catalogue Note
The present footstools are based on a `Designs for Footstools in the Chinese, Grecian and Gothic styles' from Ackermann`s Repository, Vol. X, October 1813, pl.25. The present examples closely relate to the drawing on the right side of this page which was based on a Greek console designed by Matthew Gregson,a Liverpool cabinet maker.
