Catalogue Note
The present table can be attributed to Gillows on stylistic grounds and also because of the use of exceptionally fine quality timbers in its construction which is entirely consistent with their work. For comparison, see lot 306 post and also Chiristie`s London, Christopher Gibbs and Harris Lindsay, 10th May 2006, lot 264 for a table stamped Gillows and with very similar carved detail to the base and supports.
