  • LEATHER, MAHOGANY AND METAL
  • 76cm. high, 132cm. wide, 85cm. deep; 2ft. 6in., 4ft. 4in., 2ft. 9½ in.
with a central frieze drawer flanked by a cupboard door to each side simulating a drawer and cupboard enclosing four drawers, opposed by a frieze drawer and two cupboard doors of similar form enclosing shelves, fitted throughout with the original Bramah locks, with large brass carrying handles to each side

Provenance

Probably commissioned by Francis Russell, 5th Duke of Bedford (1765-1802). At Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, until sold, Property From Two Ducal Collections, Woburn Abbey, Christie's, 20 September 2001, lot 463.

Condition

Good general restored and re-finished condition.Some filled holes to each side where later Victorian flaps had been added. Old marks and scratches
