decorated with neo-classical profile medallions and emperor heads on a faux malachite ground on ebonised cast iron supports
Condition
In good condition. There are one or two small chips to the border of the table top, can be placed immediately.
Between 1952 and 1958 Fornasetti used imitation Malachite in many forms of his work, mainly sourcing it from Russia. Fornasetti's obsession with its colouring meant that it was used in imitation form to make various pieces of furniture and household objects. See P.
