Condition

Generally very good condition overall. Dense pile up to 8mm in the border. Pile low through the centre of the field with some knot-bars visible in localised area. Original side cords and original flat woven end finishes. Some losses within the dark purple pile. Ends would benefit from overlocking. The reverse with the original trade label: Maple & Co, Oriental Carpets, London & Smyrna. Decorative and evocative period carpet.
