Description

  • cotton flat weave
  • Approximately 539 by 338cm.; 17ft. 8in., 11ft. 1in.

Condition

Possibly reduced in length. Outer cruciform motif border at one end has been rewoven (shaped section approx. 23cm. deep, at one end, 21cm. deep towards centre and 9cm at far corner) and although not as finely woven the difference is barely noticeable to the overall appearance. There are some water stains and running in areas, and some small bleached white spotting . Fading to colour in areas, for example in the centre. There is water damage and irregular colouring along the opposing edge which also effects the inner border along this end of the carpet. Largely original side cords (expect for example to the rewoven end section). Slight difference in colour, lighter to one end (depth of around 5 tiles deep). Overlocked cotton fringes at both ends. Decorative and striking flatweave carpet.
