Attractive colour. Solid despite evidence of former worm throughout. The shelf surfaces are quite crudely plained. The shelf back with replaced sledge feet supports; it is possible that this has been reduced in height. The cornice of the shelf back with replaced sections of timber mouldings. The top of the base with replaced sections of timber to the rear. Age and restorations consistent with age and nature of soft wood used in construction. A very rare and attractively patinated piece.
