Description
- MAHOGANY AND BRASS
- 69cm. high, 174cm. diameter extended with six peripheral leaves; 2ft. 3¼in., 5ft. 8½in.
now with six peripheral leaf extensions on telescopic iron bearers, adapted
Condition
Peripheral leaves of a later date. Iron bearers a later addition. The central section 142cm. diameter (4ft. 8in.) formerly with tilting action. Repaired break to central pillar of stem. Some gaps between peripheral leaves and top which it may be possible to minimise or loose with adjustment. Some typical minor warping to the top. General evidence to the underside of top such as vacant holes from previous positioning of screws together with shadows from previous positioning of beares. Cut outs to existing bearers are not regular and are therefore consistent with a later adaptation of the top. The central pillar to the stem appears to have age cracks which could signify an old repaired break. General old marks and scratches. Colour to central part of top lighter than leaves.
