Description

  • Rosewood, brass and mahogany
  • 58cm. high, 69cm. wide, 44cm. deep; 1ft. 10¾in., 2ft. 3in., 1ft. 5¼in.
each side with a stylised foliate border and with carrying handles to each end

Condition

In country house condition. Brass inlay tarnished but good. Brass inlay lifting in places. Old marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Some losses to veneers on the legs. The lid has a small age crack and sits slightly unevenly above the lock site. Small replaced section of cockbeading to front edge of lid. The piece must always have been out of direct sunlight as it has a lovely colour and is finely figured.
