Description

  • Kingwood, leather and gilt-bronze
  • 74cm. high, 140cm. wide, 72cm. deep; 2ft. 5¼in., 4ft. 7in., 2ft. 4¼in.
the shaped top with gilt bronze border and tooled red leather inset writing surface above three frieze drawers, the sides applied with gilt bronze masks

Probably acquired by George William Bowyer Adderley (1787-1872)

Condition

In very good condition. The mounts of quality but rather dirty and could benefit from cleaning and possibly re-gilding. Minor losses to veneers particularly on the legs. The leather top probably original with old ink stains particularly to the centre. Very minor traces of old worm. Solid.
