Description

  • 33.5cm, 13 1/8 in wide
oval, the pierced and embossed basket weave sides below a richly chased border of cornucopia, lion masks, fruit festoons, sheaves of wheat and winged cherubs' head, the interior engraved with a coat-of-arms and cartouche, flat-chased fixed handle, scratch weight '41=6'

Condition

Although there are signs of some repairs this is a sound basket of an interesting and unusual design. Note: maker's mark only
