the body embossed and chased with neo-classical motifs, snake wrapped scroll handles, detachable cover with figural finial, the foot engraved 'From the collection of the Duchess of Montrose'
Condition
The finial is slightly lose and missing a nut on the underside; some denting to handles, one handle with an old solder repair at the terminus of the snake's tail, the other handle with a hairline crack; the body has significant old solder repairs and several pin holes to the embossed decoration, good clear hallmarks on body and cover
