A Worcester rectangular dish, circa 1770,

probably later decorated, the claret ground borders reserved with a large spray of mixed fruits, the rim with alternating small fruit sprays and insects,

There is a small blemish to the gilding on the rim in the centre of one of the canted corners. There is a little minor fire-specking to the front of the dish and a lot of sanding to the underside.

A very similar dish was in the Rous Lench Collection sold in these rooms 1st July 1986, lot 263.  Another was illustrated by H. Rissik Marshall, Coloured Worcester Porcelain, plate 9a and plate 34, no. 728
