comprising a high-footed sauceboat with 'Smoky Primitive' prints of rural landscapes and lovers among ruins, circa 1754-55, a King of Prussia mug, signed RH Worcester with the anchor rebus and dated 1757, a teabowl and saucer with 'L'Amour', the saucer signed R. Hancock fecit, circa 1760, a saucer dish with 'The Tea Party no. 2' signed and dated R. Hancock fecit 1757, a teacup and saucer with coloured prints of classical ruins, circa 1770, and a cream jug with the 'Bridge House' pattern printed in purple and also coloured, circa 1765
Condition
King of Prussia mug has a fine hair crack running down from the rim for 10mm. There is a little fire-specking below the handle and above the footrim. The high-footed sauceboat has a horizontal hair crack extending around the pedestal foot for approximately 11cm. There is a little fire-specking to the body. Teabowl and saucer – no visible damage. Saucer dish has a rim chip and associated fine crack extending for approximately 3cms, there is a little rubbing to the black line around the rim and a small firing flaw in the sky to the right of the tree. Teacup and saucer with coloured prints, saucer has a minor chip to the footrim, the teacup has a shallow chip to the inner rim, approx. 4mm wide, both pieces have some light fire-specking, the cream jug has some light sanding/fire-specking above the footrim below the main print. Cream jug has no visible damage

A similar sauceboat, seemingly the pair to this one with the same 'Smoky Primitive' prints, was formerly in the Grant Dixon Collection. It appears in Joseph M. Handley Collection catalogue; 18th Century English Transfer-Printed Porcelain and Enamels, 1991, no. 6.1 p. 172, and also in Simon Spero's Exhibition 2000, no. 18.
