in the white, naturalistically modelled seated on her nest,
Condition
There are some minor chips to the nest material applied below the rim of the base. The cover has a vertical firing crack approx. 2cm long below the bird's neck.

For another example in the white and a pair of coloured examples, see The Sir Jeremy Lever Collection, sold by Bonhams, 7th March 2007, lots 196 and 201. Plain glazed examples are rarer than coloured ones. Both types are listed in the price list of the factory's London warehouse of c. 1755-56.
