Description

  • beakers with gilded open crescent mark
  • Porcelain
  • cornucopia 25.2cm., 10in. long, beakers 5.9cm., 2¼in. high
decorated in kakiemon style, the cornucopia spirally moulded with a formal floral border around the rim, painted with flower sprays and insects, the conical beakers with the 'Two Quail' pattern

The cornucopia was exhibited in the English Ceramics Circle Bi-Centenary exhibition, September 1951, probably no. 20, one of a pair

Condition

The cornucopia has light fire-specking/sanding over its surface One of the pair of beakers has some minor firing blemishes to the rim.
