Description

  • gilt-bronze, mahogany
  • each 77.5cm. high, 82cm. diameter; 2ft. 6½in., 2ft. 8¼in.
one with a bleu turqin marble top, the other with a veined grey and white marble top and with a pierced gallery above a single frieze drawer and three dummy drawers, on brass castors

Condition

In excellent condition. Minor scratches to the tops. Metal tarnished slightly. Dents to galleries - easily restored. Minor cracks to veneers.

Catalogue Note

The various firms of Durand were active throughout the 19th century making fine quality meuble de luxe. The family was descended from a long line of cabinet-makers in Paris dating back to the 1780's, trading until 1934.
