of oval boat form with upturned scrolling acanthus ends and pierced folaite scroll border, the sides with rococo cartouches flanked by flowers, fruit and formal foliage, one side engraved with presentation inscription and badge of the 2nd Volunteer Battalion of the York & Lancaster Regiment, the other with tritons swimming with dolphins, the domed oval base chased to match and raised on four shell supports, gilt interior
