Condition

Pile ranges from closely sheard 1/10th of an inch in borders and design elements. Dark brown ground oxidized to knotheads. Repiling to dark brown and some scattered repiling in other colors. Blue residue on reverse. Sides later overcst in dark brown wool, with remnants of original selvages underneath. Rewoven outer guard stripes, therefore new fringes. Very supple handle, lustrous wool, sound fabric and in good condition.
