Top and bottom associated, feet later, restorations, losses, later gilding.
Condition
Overall fair restored condition; top and bottom associated; the top with large age crack approximately 40 inches in length and now with a gap approximately 1/8-inch with subsequent separation and loss to veneer of Greek-key inlaid banding and to rosewood veneers, the top with another age crack approximately 18 inches in length; the edge of top with losses to the veneers; the frieze with an areas of stress tears to the veneers with subsequent lifting and losses approximately 17 inches in length, small stress tears and age cracks, patches and losses to veneers of frieze throughout; chips and losses to the gilded edge; the underside of the top with four small patched holes; the bearers and square support with old worm; the quadripartite base with perishing t the finish and to the veneers to the top, age cracks and with three patches to the tips of the canted corners; one canted corner with a triangular loss to corner; the side of the quadripartite base with large losses to the veneers especially to one canted corner with loss to veneer above foot; the side of the base with patches, age cracks, losses and areas of infilling and inapinting to the veneers; feet later, the gilding with areas of flakingl chips and losses; the underside of the base with two butterfly patches and lacking long block to backing of veneer to one incurved side; later gilding; overall with old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises and in need of further restoration.
