  • mahogany, satinwood
comprising two armchairs and ten side chairs.  Each backrest with satinwood or mahogany-inlaid panel above an overupholstered seat, raised on ring-turned reeded legs; some chairs stamped W F L to underside of back seat rail.

Condition

Variations to carving, appear to be made up of two sets of 6 chairs by the same maker. Overall good condition with the usual nicks bruises and scratchs and some areas of minor worm damage. Chair 1 with old repaired breaks to stiles at joins with cresting rail. Chair 2 with repaired break to top of right stiles with old worm damage to rails. Chair 3 with repaired breaks to tops of stiles and with small split to back left leg at join with left seat rail. Chair 4 with small replaced section to bottom of left stile approximately 3 inches by 1/8 in. Chair 5 with old repaired break to top of left stile at join with cresting rail. Chair 6 with repaired breaks to tips of stiles. The first armchair with repaired break to top of armrest at join with right stile.
