the convex glass within a concave-molded frame applied with gilded spheres surmounted by a foliate-form cresting and winged eagle finial above a foliate-spray apron.

Condition

Overall good condition; repaired break to one eagle wing; appears to retain old gilding with rubbing, wear and small losses to gilding showing red and grey bole to the underside; some small chip and losses to gilding and gesso to the leaf tips and to the sides of the frame; the convex mirror appears to be contemporary and with crystallization to the bottom of the glass with some pitting to silvering. The plinth beneath the eagle possibly later added or a replacement.
