the arched broken pediment centered by an urn finial flanked by a pair of urn finials above a pair of arched doors fitted with conforming beveled mirror glasses opening to three adjustable shelves; the lower section fitted with a slant-front opening to a central prospect door flanked by a pair of spring-loaded secret drawers inlaid with pilasters flanked further by an arrangement of small drawers and pigeon holes before a sliding panel; the case fitted with four graduated long drawers raised on bracket feet. Restorations.
Condition
Overall good restored condition; the veneers with a polished surface; color is nice; beveled mirror glasses appear to be original or contemporary and with nice crystallization and with a nice soft bevel; plinths to finials replaced; platform beneath central finial replaced; the upper section with patches to bottom drawer and to one shelf, possibly where compartments or divisions were fitted; the backboards with a dark wash and one end with a later wood strip; the lower section with replaced backs to back feet; feet with some minor restorations; the drawer linings with alterations and some replacements; some restorations and minor losses to cockbeading; underside of case with a later wood block to the back edge.
