Description

of oval form, carved in high relief with a monkey perched on a leafy sprig of lingzhi above a dragon carp leaping from water ripples, the stone of attractive black and grey tone cleverly incorporated into the design with a bright russet fleck near the monkey's head

Condition

The carving is in excellent condition with the exception of minor nicks to the extremeties of the carving and slight bruising including a 0.2 x 0.1cm area to one ear of the monkey and another 0.2 x 0.2cm area to one of the leafy tendrils of the lingzhi. There are two pierced holes (0.2 x 0.2cm) on the top of the carving.
