of flaring U-shape with a gently curved rim, carved with a phoenix, its head modelled in the round beneath the spout and its wings defined with archaistic scrolls and spread open on either side, set with a scrolled handle opposite to the phoenix head, the jade of snow white tone with attractive russet orange inclusions

Condition
The cup is in excellent condition with the exception of minor nicks natural to the stone. The stone is of a brighter celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
