the compressed globular body supported on three animal mask feet, flanked by a pair of mask handles suspending loose rings, the domed cover surmounted by a Buddhist lion with a brocade ball, the stone of even celadon tone

Bluett & Sons, London.

Condition

The censer is of good condition with the exception of a circa 4cm crack running from the rim to the side near one of the handles as a result of natural flaw of the stone. The cover is in excellent condition. The stone is of a brighter celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
