Description

  • porcelain painted in underglaze cobalt-blue
the broad pear-shaped body of rectangular section, flanked at the shoulders by a pair of loop handles, painted on each face in brilliant cobalt-blue tones with figurative scenes in idyllic landscapes within double line borders, each below a panel decorated with antiques, wood cover and stand

Condition

The hu vase has one of the handles restored, there is a circa 7cm hairline running across the two ladies to the side, and two chips (0.7 x 0.3cm and 0.4 x 0.3cm respectively) near the base of the hu. There is general rubbing of glaze and nibbling around the rectangular rim, and other glaze firing imperfections such as iron spots, burst glaze bubbles etc.
