of baluster form rising from a slightly spreading foot to a short cylindrical neck and lipped rim, painted to the exterior in bright cobalt-blue tones with leafy peony scrolls, the shoulder encircled by a chevron border enclosing ruyi cloud scrolls, all below a band of upright lappets, pierced wood cover and stand

Condition

The jar has a kiln grit measuring 1 x 0.2cm near the shoulder, minor glaze chips, burst glaze bubbles and surface scratchings across the body. There are four large burst glaze bubbles along the rim which appears dark brown.
