Description
- porcelain decorated in underglaze cobalt-blue
comprising three baluster vases with associated covers and a pair of beaker vases, moulded with concentric rows of lotus petal-shaped panels, each painted in rich cobalt-blue tones with alternating riverscapes and floral sprays issuing from rockwork, the base with ribboned artemisia leaf marks
Condition
The garniture is in good overall condition with the exception of the following: one beaker has fritting encircling the rim; the other beaker has minot fritting to the rim and some fritting and chipping around the foot and a 2cm., hairline firing line to the base; one jar is matched, being of a slightly lighter tone of blue, slightly different treatment of the bands at the neck and foot and 5mm taller; one jar has light fritting to the rim; one jar has a shallow flake to the top of the rim; the associated covers have minor frits and one has a 2.5cm., flake to the inner flange; minor firing imperfections and light glaze scratches to all pieces.
