after a European Neo-Classical faience prototype, each shield-shaped body moulded to the front and reverse with an oval panel painted en grisaille with a riverbank landscape above a moulded gilt husk swag, the shoulder set with two gilt-painted pistol-form handles, all raised on a low circular foot painted with gilt leaves on a black ground above a square faux-wood base

Condition

The pair of urns shows overall rubbing to the gilt and painted surface. One of the urns seems to have its foot detached from the shield-shaped body and then reattached with a 3 x 0.4cm loss still visible, and traces of possibly re-painting on one of the gilt pistol handles.
