of baluster shape rising from four ringed feet, the shoulder flanked by a pair of beast handles suspending rings, the body with four vertical rows of angular fret flanges running up the sides of the vase, crisply carved with archaistic taotie masks, the cover similarly set with four flanges surmounted by a mythical beast finial, the stone of mottled pale celadon tone, wood stand

The vase is in excellent condition with the exception of minor nibbles and natural veining running through it. The stone is of a brighter apple-green and celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
