Description
- rhinoceros horn
of flaring U-shape, carved around the exterior with two chilong supported on stems of leafy bamboo and lingzhi fungus, the handle in the form of another chilong clutching a lingzhi sprig in its mouth clambering up a bamboo and a lingzhi stalk, further extended to form a base with various lingzhi heads, the horn of rich dark toffee-coloured tone
Condition
The cup is of general good condition with the exception of one area of cracking to the foot and natural age cracks and minor nibbling. The horn is of a brighter toffee tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
